Grading

Students are judged and graded on an individual basis, as the Martial Arts are an individual strive for Perfection. No two students' training/ proficiency are alike. As students increase in grade, they are judged more on attitude, technique and knowledge.

Decisions in regard to grade are ultimately made by the chief instructor, as his decision is final.

 


Although grading is not compulsory, below is a guideline for each grade available.

In some cases 10th kyu to Shodan can be achieved in about 5yrs, Dan grades are generally taken in as many years for the grade after your Shodan: i.e. 2nd Dan 2years, 3rd Dan 3yrs the higher grades are by invite only from the chief instructor.

10th Kyu - White Belt - Red tip.

9th Kyu - Red

8th Kyu - Yellow                                                MINIMUM 3 MONTHS TRAINING

7th Kyu - Orange
 

6th Kyu - Green

5th Kyu - Purple

4th Kyu - Purple/white stripe

3rd Kyu - Brown                                                   MINIMUM 6 MONTHS TRAINING

2nd Kyu - Brown/white stripe

1st kyu - Brown/red stripe

Shodan - Black
